Photos - Maintain updated photos of your child every 4-6 months or when any physical change occurs. Ex: Hairstyles - If a child has long hair then has it cut, or changes their hair color, get a new photo. If they wear several different hairstyles, have a photo of each style (braids, upsweep, etc.) Your photo collection should include full body, facial close-up and profile. Scan and keep these photos on a diskette as well as hard copies.

Fingerprints/Footprints - You can have fingerprints and footprints kept on local police files as well as your own records. There are kits you can purchase to do this yourself or have it done for free at your police department. This could actually be a fun and positive experience for your child as they get to know policemen personally and learn that they are their friends.
