Funding

CAF Funding:

The CHILD ALERT FOUNDATION (CAF) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization dedicated to assisting federal and local law enforcement agencies in the recovery of abducted children. All funding for the operation and maintenance of the CAF Foundation is strictly through private, public and Corporate donations.

On November 1, 1998, CAF was incorporated in Pennsylvania as a non-profit organization whose mission is to concentrate on assisting the police and 911 emergency organizations fight the crime of child abduction.

Most police and emergency agencies are overworked and understaffed. They work long hours on cases that cover the multitude of crime offences and emergencies. It can be a road accident or at a fire. A domestic violence scene or a burglary. Every day there are police officers called because a child has been abducted. Often these events occur at the same time. That means resources are split and priorities can be mixed.

CAF is designed to assist the police and 911 operators. Time is of the essence. When a child alert abduction is given to the police or 911, once the information is entered into the system, the information will be sent out IMMEDIATELY over the internet to all agencies, TV stations, radio stations, FAX notices, and pagers to agencies with that capability within a 100 mile radius of the abduction site.

We need your financial help. Funding is needed to establish the network of television, radio stations, and law enforcement agencies linked via the INTERNET to alert the public within minutes of the report of the abduction. With media saturation of that area the abductor can be spotted and apprehended with the child returned to safety.

The CAF programs distribute information faster, more efficiently and over a broader network within minutes of the reported abduction.

We have the computer software and dedicated group of professionals as a nucleus. We have the support of media professionals to help spread our message.

What we do not have is the money to expand our organization and hire the personnel to make this project a national reality. The entire development of CAF has been financed with our own resources. We need funds for equipment and operators and further programming help.

We tend to forget that the police are parents too. Their children or relatives are just as much at risk to predators who will stop at nothing in abducting a child. The child may be an infant or a teenager. It can happen to any of us and the police care as much as you and I. Sadly, we all see it is happening increasingly each day.
