Forsyth County Sheriff's Department, will be the first
remote host in the state of Georgia for CAF's Abduction Central Alert software program.
The Forsyth County Sheriff's Department in Cumming, has agreed to be the
first remote host in the state Georgia to register for the Child Alert Foundation's
Abduction Central Alert (ACA) software program.
CAF members, Vincent Albers III and Nancy Albers presented a demonstration of the
community alert program to Georgia sheriff's officials at 10:00AM in the Sawnee Center,
Cumming, GA on November 2nd, 1999.
Attending the presentation were numerous law enforcement representatives from the Forsyth
County
Sheriff's department, including Captain Ron Freeman, Michael Honiker, and Karleen Chalker.
Covering the story from the media were Colby Jones from the Forsyth County Newspaper, Rick
Nelson of WSB-TV (ABC) Channel 2, Chris Braz of WGNX-TV (CBS) Channel 46, and Merrit
Dempsey of Prestige Vision Channel 4 (Cable).
First Officer James Bohlmann of the Southern Cruisers North Georgia Chapter hosted the
event for CAF with additional supporting members attending the presentation including
Suzanne Hosey and Bobby Mountain.
Although the Sawnee Center did not have Internet accessibility for a live demonstration of
the Abduction Central Alert (ACA) program, both Vince and Nancy Albers were still able to
present a simulation of an abducted child report and showed the results of posters and web
pages automatically generated by the ACA software.
Many in the audience agreed with Mr. Albers on the need for the community based alert
program and
indicated that they would inform other police and sheriff departments in the surrounding
area of the new
technology being utilized by CAF.
