Tuesday, October 5, 1999, at 9:00 a.m., in Portland, Maine when Sheriff Mark Dion will
be presented with the Child Alert Foundation's (CAF) Abduction Central Alert © software.
It will then be installed with Portland as the first Host site in Maine.
This is being donated by the Down East
Country Music Association under the sponsorship of Dave Perry of Standish
Country Music Promotions. WCSH TV is scheduled to be covering the event along
with Fox 51 and others to be invited.
The ACA© software will allow Sheriff Dion as the Host site, to build up the contacts he
wishes to give immediate notification. Upon the filing of any abduction or missing person
report, within minutes, all contacts within a 100-mile radius of Portland, will be
alerted, the sheriffs department personel, police, media,and support organizations as
Sheriff Dion determines. The public will become aware to look for the child.
