Mahoning County 911 will be the first remote host in the state of Ohio for
CAF's Abduction Central Alert software program.
The Mahoning County 911 system in Youngstown, OH has agreed to be the first remote host in
the state Ohio to register for the Child Alert Foundation's Abduction Central Alert (ACA)
software program.
CAF cofounder, Vincent Albers III presented a demonstration of the community alert program
to Ms. Maggie McGee from Mahoning County 911 at 5:00PM in the Boardman Holiday Inn,
Boardman, OH on January, 6th 2000.
Attending the presentation included Claire Maluso from Congressman James Traficant's
office, law enforcement representatives from the Mahoning County Sheriff's department,
including Captain James M. Lewandowski. Covering the story from the media were: John
Goodwin for the Youngstown Vindicator, ABC affiliate, WYTV TV, ABC affiliate WKBN radio,
CBS affiliate, WFMJ TV.
Mr. Robert Fish, a CAF advocate and concerned parent, hosted the event for CAF. Mr. Fish
learned of the Child Alert Foundation and did extensive research to conclude that the ACA
system provided by CAF far
exceeds anything currently available to help address the problem of child abductions. He
contacted numerous state officials and coordinated the demonstration and media event.
Prior to the demonstration, Mr. Fish held radio talk show interviews on WGFT radio with
Herman Hill, WKBN radio with Ron Verb and later with Pete Gabriel. The CEO of Child Alert
Foundation, Col. Vincent Albers Jr.
and CFO Nancy Albers participated in the remote phone interview.
Although the Holiday Inn did not have Internet accessibility for a live demonstration of
the Abduction Central Alert (ACA) program, Mr. Albers was still able to present a
simulation of an abducted child report and showed the results of posters and web pages
automatically generated by the ACA software.
Many in the audience, especially the media, agreed with Mr. Albers on the need for the
community based alert program and indicated that they would inform other police and
sheriff departments in the surrounding area of the new technology being utilized by CAF.
