ACA System Overview
The Abduction Central Alert (ACA) © software program was designed as a tool to assist law enforcement agencies in immediately notifying the surrounding area that a child has been reported missing or abducted.
Using the Internet and state of the art distributed database technology, the ACA system identifies a 100 mile radius around where the incident happened and immediately notifies all participating contacts within that "Zone of Influence". The contacts for each ACA Host location are determined by each installation but any contacts within the 100 mile "zone" are automatically added into an alert pool so that as many participating agencies are notified regardless of jurisdiction and state boundaries. Using a special geolocation module the contact city locations are identified to see if they fall within that zone.
Once the alert pool has been filled with the contact information, the ACA system begins to activate pagers, transmits faxes, sends emails, builds Internet websites and much more, all within a matter of seconds of being activated. Email confirmations are sent to the alerting ACA Host that not only verify the case number assigned to the alert but a list of all the contacts notified within that "zone" are provided as well. It also tells the distances away of all contacts notified.
The Abduction Central Alert (ACA) © program was designed to be utilized by operators of all skill levels. Data entry personnel who have little computer training as well as advanced individuals are able to use the ACA system with very little assistance. The ACA system also utilizes an animated Genie for online help that gives a tutorial about the program for those who feel that is necessary.
Regardless of background, users will see that the Abduction Central Alert © software program is a deceptively advanced but easily used program to assist law enforcement in notifying the surrounding community of a missing or abducted individual.
